Join us for the 2nd Annual GEIR Community Connections weekend for students, alumni, and faculty!

Hosted by Lauren Stokes, Nick Sharp, and Michelle Claffey, the focus of our time together is renewal, exploration, and connection: to ourselves, each other, nature, and horses.

2026 Itinerary

Thursday, September 17
Free time (dinner on your own) - optional to arrive Thursday evening or Friday morning.
Friday, September 18 (arrive 9:45am)
10am-4pm: Horse Connection, Caretaking & Equine Enrichment at EE Farms
Saturday, September 19
10am-4pm: Horse Connection (EE Farms) & Land Connection/Stewardship (The Land)
Sunday, September 20
9am-12pm: Community connection & free time; depart between 12-2pm

2026 Registration & Deposit

Register by August 15

We are offering this community connection opportunity on a “pay what you can” registration structure with suggested contribution of $450-650. The minimum fee of $450 includes 3 nights accommodations, meals (hosted at the cabin, on the land, or at the ranch) and access to land and horses. It excludes travel/transportation and any other adventures you wish to do while in Grand County!

After covering expenses with the base rate of $450/person, any additional proceeds will contribute to an organizers and facilitators fund, to be split amongst the organizers and facilitators after the weekend.

To secure your spot, click “register now” to complete a brief Google Form. After completing the form, please also submit a deposit of $100 using the Venmo (@thesynergycollective) link below. Final balance is due September 1, 2026. Deposits are refundable if you are able to find someone to fill your spot. Questions or concerns about payment? Accommodation Options

Cabin

Thanks to the support of a neighbor, we’ve secured accommodations a short walk from The Land, where we will host our nature-based activities. Click here to see more photos.

Lodging is included with registration and will be assigned first come, first serve based on date of deposit.
Room 2: Queen + Twin
Room 3: Double Bunk; twin (upper loft)
Loft on landing: Double futon + twin


Camping

Prefer to camp? There are 3-4 tent sites and a camper that sleeps 3 at The Land. Contact Lauren with camping questions.


Weather & What to Bring

Please note that while weather in September is often beautiful and still warm (sunny and in the 60s), colder temperatures are possible, including potential for early snowfall. Please be sure to check the weather a few days before and pack accordingly!


Orienting

Getting Here

We’ll be connecting at Lauren and her husband Bob’s land in Grand County, CO, between Tabernash and Granby. The two pink hearts on the map are EE Farms (horse activities) and The Land (nature activities), where we will spend most of our time. The drive time is approximately 1.5 hours from the Denver area.

Cabin + Land

The pink heart circled on the map is the location of the rental house. The blue flag circled on the map is The Land, where our nature-based activities will occur.

EE Farms

Located between Fraser and Granby, the yellow circle (lower right corner) is EE Farm, where our equine activities will occur. the hearts circled in the (upper left corner) reflects the location of the land and the cabin, where we will be staying. It is a 15 minute drive.
