Create Connectivity Counseling and Devil's Thumb Ranch combine forces to offer an inspiring couple's retreat integrating relationship enrichment & communication skills and some good ol' fashioned cowboy action! Not your average couple's retreat, this is for couples with an adventurous spirit!!
As a participating couple, you'll join up to three other couples with a similar interest in finding exciting ways to have fun while strengthening your relationships. Our morning will be spent exploring some of the factors influencing the success of our relationships. We'll discuss and practice relationship-enriching practices such as verbal and nonverbal communication strategies, establishing connecting rituals, and understanding the physical, mental & emotional processes underlying relationship conflicts...and how to gracefully resolve these challenges!
After lunch on your own, we'll meet at Cabin Creek Stables at Devil's Thumb Ranch, where we'll spend the afternoon engaging in a mix of groundwork (unmounted) activities in which couples get to work together as a couple, gaining experiential growth in communication and attunement with each other and with their assigned horses. Our link between human relationship and horses comes primarily through the qualities of attunement, congruence, and authenticity, which influence our feelings of connection and ability to communicate both verbally and nonverbally. Horses are excellent teachers of these qualities, as well as the balance of trust and power in relationship.
Then we'll mount up and end the day with a BEAUTIFUL 60-90 minute horseback ride - incredible views of the Fraser Valley, Continental Divide, Winter Park Resort, and fall colors on the Aspen groves! Should be a great mix of growth, enrichment, and FUN!
Not into the group retreat idea? Unable to join on September 24th? Use the "Private Retreat" booking option in advance to schedule an exclusive, private couple's enrichment weekend, custom tailored to you and your partner!
